Mergers & Acquisitions

HealthPro represents both public and private companies in the sale or acquisition of a target company. In both buy-side and sell-side transactions, our goal is to structure transactions in which both the buyer and seller share and realize the benefits and risks. Licensing & Partnering

HealthPro identifies partners for the co-development, marketing and sale of clients’ assets. HealthPro will also structure and negotiate a license transaction, both domestically and internationally, that can include technology and method transfer, validation, scale-up, manufacture process, stability, bioequivalence and regulatory submission.

He is leading the team of HealthPro BioVentures LLC in its growth in the medical devices/orthopedic device sector.

James Kuo has over 20 years of experience in the life science industry as a venture capitalist, business development executive and CEO of life science companies. Previously, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Adeona Pharmaceuticals, a publicly-traded biotech company developing CNS therapies. Dr. Kuo is also a founder and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BioMicro Systems, a profitable genomic tools company that was acquired by a major pharma company.

Jorge Leon is an internationally recognized expert and pioneer in the field of development and commercialization of clinical molecular diagnostics. Dr. Leon has a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from NYU and completed his post doctoral studies at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, Germany and Columbia University in NYC.

Dr. Ira M. Herman is a tenured professor and director of the Center for Innovations in Wound Healing Research at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Herman holds appointments in the departments of physiology, anatomy & cellular biology, ophthalmology and biomedical engineering. Presently Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Marillion Pharmaceuticals Inc, Dr. Subhan has 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries spanning roles in research, clinical development, sales, marketing and business development, including managerial positions with Sanofi-Aventis, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, the Dupont-Merck Pharmaceutical Company (now part of Bristol-Myers Squibb), Gemini Genomics (now Sequenom, Inc) and Locus Pharmaceuticals.

Gurinder Shahi, MD, PhD, MPH
