Greg McKee, President, CEO and Founder of GMcK Ventures, a healthcare focused incubator, brings over twenty-four years of biotechnology industry, corporate development, finance and management experience to HealthPro BioVentures, LLC. Mr. McKee currently serves as our Specialist Advisor providing guidance on corporate development and operations for our Clients.
From 2003 through 2012, Mr. McKee served in several executive roles at Nventa Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. and Akela Pharma, Inc., two publically traded development-stage biotechnology companies which merged in 2009. During his tenure, Mr. McKee raised over $50 million in new capital through both financial and strategic transactions, and repositioned both companies with significant corporate and scientific restructurings. Mr. McKee also served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Corporate Development and Strategic Planning at Nventa. Previously, Mr. McKee served in Corporate Development roles at Valentis, Inc., and Genesoft, Inc. Mr. McKee’s experience also includes several management positions at Genzyme Corporation, including Director – Asia. Prior to entering the biotechnology industry Mr. McKee lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan for seven years as an investment banker and aide to the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan. Mr. McKee earned an MBA and M.A. from The Wharton School and The Joseph H. Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Washington. Mr. McKee currently resides in La Jolla, CA.
